Yeah, I come here from time to time. Rarely, but I do make a visit to check on Emily, see if she's enjoying the trip ;)
Would you and Emily, and other fellow bloggers like to meet for a coffee sometime? Say next Thursday, Saturday or the Monday after Easter? Let me know by email, it's in my profile. I will be in DDO visiting and spending Easter with my parents.
A flâneur is a detached pedestrian observer of a metropolis, a “gentleman stroller of city streets”
The term flâneur (or jetter) comes from the French verb flâner, which means "to stroll". A flâneur is thus a person who walks the city in order to experience it. Because of the term's usage and theorization by Charles Beaudelaire and numerous thinkers in economic, cultural, literary and historical fields, the idea of the flâneur has accumulated significant meaning as a referent for understanding urban phenomena and modernity.
